I think our future husband is something we all as girls dream about. We dream about that cute guy, 'perfect' wedding, and (maybe) those adorable little kids. But have you ever thought about praying for him? Just as you are going through life and struggling at times, he is too. Your prayers could make such a difference in his life! God knows who that man is right now.
In this post, Bethany Baird shares some awesome reasons why you should pray for your future husband, and some qualities she is praying for in a man. I encourage you to check it out!
So how do I pray for my future husband? I pray that God would protect him and guide him. I pray that he will become a man after God's own heart. I pray that we will remain pure for each other, but most importantly God. Also, I pray that God would prepare us for each other and guide us together in His timing.
In addition to that, I prayer for the following things. I found this list on Pinterest awhile back, and LOVE it.
1. That he will have great knowledge of the Lord. (2 Peter 3:18)
2. That he will be the spiritual leader of our family. (1 Corinthians 11:3)
3. That he will love me deeply. (Ephesians 5:25-28, Colossians 3:19)
4. That he will have a heart for our children. (Colossians 3:21, Malachi 4:6, Ephesians 6:4)
5. That he will make wise choices. (Galatians 5:13)
6. That he will be a hard-worker. (1 Corinthians 15:58, Psalm 90:17, Colossians 3:23)
7. That he will resist sexual temptation. (1 Corinthians 6:18, Ephesians 5:3-5)
8. That he will have a Proverbs 31 wife (me!).
9. That he will keep his eyes pure. (Psalm 101:3)
10. That his ears will be tuned to God.
11. That he will speak edifying words only. (Ephesians 4:15, 29)
12. That he will have spiritual endurance. (Hebrews 12:1, Isaiah 40:31)
[I encourage you to write these down, look up the verses, and pray for your future husband often!]
I know that he will not be perfect, and that's okay. I also know I need to pray these things for myself and prepare my heart to be his wife. Remember, its not so much about finding the right person as being the right person. Are you the kind of girl that this guy you are praying for is looking for? Your vibe attracts your tribe.
I hope y'all enjoyed this! Do you pray for your future husband? If so, what? If not, do you plan on beginning? Let me know in the comments!
Hey y'all! I am super excited to share with you all my quiet time essentials, a post that I've been thinking about for a while now. I am also sharing some of my new friend Lili's (from @Godsgracegirl on insta) quiet time essentials. On her blog(Godsgracegirllili.wixsite.com), we're sharing some awesome tips about how we make having our quiet times a priority! So you get the whole package deal, how to and what to use. Let's get started!
[Leave a comment with what your quiet time essentials are, if we have any items in common, or if you have questions!]
Now, let's be honest. The only thing you really need for your quiet time is your Bible, and if that's all you have, you're good to go! I just wanted to list some things that I use to supplement my quiet time.
First off, my Bible! Y'all, I LOVE my journaling Bible. I love being able to write notes and doodle specific verses in the margins. This is the one I have. I use the light colored Crayola Supertip markers and 01 Sakura pens to doodle and take notes. I talk more about Bible journaling in this post.
Next up, my Bible notebooks. Because I have a journaling Bible and can write notes in my margins, I usually use the floral notebook for notes from Christian books I read.
For Christmas my parents got me the blank sketchbook, and one of my sister's got me these awesome Sakura pens! I love to doodle verses in here, and I think it helps to focus on a specific verse and think about it while writing it.
My Little Faith Book, written by the amazing Jenny from @Christiangirls, is something I use often! I keep my #littleBibleplan printable in there, and will also doodle or have fun with the awesome prompts.
Sometimes I'll use a devotional to supplement my Bible reading. I already mentioned I use the #littleBibleplan, which I LOVE. I like to read Charles Stanley's InTouch magazines, Jordan Lee's Wholehearted, Elizabeth George's A Young Woman After God's Own Heart: A Devotional, and I'm currently reading through How to Study the Bible by Kristin Schmucker. I love them all!
For good Christian books, check out this post.
So there are my quiet time essentials! I hope you enjoyed it and maybe found something you'd like to buy or an idea you'd like to use for your quiet time. A book that has changed my thoughts towards having a quiet time, that I'm currently reading, is A Place of Quiet Rest by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. I highly recommend it!
Let's move onto Lili's!
1. My Bible!
This seems pretty obvious, but it's the most important and necessary essential for your quiet time. It's so amazing to dig into God's Truth and meditate on it.
2. Worship Playlist
For me, it is so important to set the mood in His presence. Having worship music playing softly in the background is such a good way to relax, unwind, and really enjoy your quiet time with God.
3. My Devotionals!
I don't know about y'all, but I love devotionals! There is something about the beautiful covers of the book and the truth of the Bible that people have inside that I love. As much as I love reading my Bible, devotionals are also a great way to find Truth from God's Word through others. The blue one is Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, and the pink one is Stronger by Debbie Waldrep.
4. Highlighters/Pens and My Journal
This one is really important for me because I love writing stuff down and highlighting everything! I think it is such a good way to memorize the things that I have learned or what really has spoken to me.
I hope you all enjoyed that! Don't forget to check out her part of the collab on her blog.
